a fishtail braid is a braid that instead of starting back-to-front you go front-to-back. (its really just a backwards braid)

a fishtail actually looks like the scales of a fish, hence fishtail braid...ok here goes

brush hair straight back, or wherever your putting the braid

than separate hair into 2 sections, straight down the middle

now your going to take a small section from underneath the right section of hair, and ADD it to the left section, next your going to do the same exact thing on the other side--keeping 2 sections at all times, it's easier than it sounds, just practice
